Škoda has repeated its silverware hat-trick by winning another three titles in Carbuyer Awards. Having driven off with a trio of wins in 2023, the Czech brand has repeated its performance in 2024. The new Kodiaq, new Superb and updated Octavia were named the stars of the show, with all three seeing off stiff competition to take key category victories.
The second-generation Kodiaq, which made its UK debut earlier this year, was named Best Large Family Car 2025, repeating the success of the previous model, which won the same title in the 2023 and 2024 Carbuyer Awards. The judging panel praised the practicality of Škoda’s seven-seater SUV and welcomed the arrival of a new Plug-in Hybrid version to the range.
Another Škoda newcomer to take top honours was the new Superb, which was named Best Estate Car 2025. The fourth-generation model was launched earlier this year and has set new standards in the sector. “SUVs may hog the limelight these days but family car buyers overlook the estate at their peril. None fill the utility wagon role better than the Škoda Superb, either.” Explained Carbuyer Editor Paul Barker. “This big load lugger has the vast boot area to make all your cargo carrying dreams come true and also delivers on ride comfort and efficiency, making it a superb long-distance machine.” He added.
Completing Škoda’s hat-trick of Carbuyer titles was the recently updated Octavia, which claimed back-to-back wins to be named Best Family Car 2025. The new model, which went on sale in early summer with updated specifications and a revised design, impressed the judges with its refinement and attention to detail. Commenting on the Octavia’s third win in as many years, Carbuyer Editor Paul Barker said: “We love the Škoda Octavia at Carbuyer. It’s always offered a fantastic blend of space, quality and value for families and the latest model is another chip off the old block. Comfort levels in the cabin have reached new heights with the smooth ride and quiet powertrains, while Škoda’s Simply Clever features are still great for making life with an Octavia run even more smoothly.”
